New user. Downloaded Geogebra 6 for Mac. My problem is that not all the work that I have done is being saved. When I reopen file, most of the work is missing/not saved.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Did you save the file locally on your computer or online on GeoGebra.org?

Please post your file, or the link to the uploaded file, as well as the app you used to create it.

If you have created an app using the Classic version, ensure (in the Advanced settings of the uploaded app) that the app will be opened online using the Classic version or the Suite, because some ggb apps have limited functionalities.

See https://www.geogebra.org/m/shfwqcpr for a comparison.

I’m using Geogebra classic v.6.0.609.0. I’m using it offline and saving as .ggb files on my desktop.

I am not using Geogebra online at all.

Yes, I see, but this problem raised with 5.0.620 - some files are corrupted after saved to different devices - tripple saved to HD and 2 SD-Sticks....

Thank you Michael, but the file looks perfectly fine. I don’t believe it would help you to look at the file. I did not get any error message to show you. All that happened was that changes I had made and saved, when I reopened the file, were not there at all. All that the file contained was an earlier version of the work.

I have opened and saved all files using exactly the same method.

Dear Michael,

I appear to have found a method of saving that is successful. First I followed the instructions in another comment to use “download as .ggb” instead of “save as.” This worked, UNTIL I called it the same name which prompted the message, “do you want to replace..” Which I did. But doing this caused updated work to be lost again.

So I tried calling each save by a new name. Doing this, although messy, appears, so far, to be successful.

As this app is so useful for what I am wanting to do, I am happy to live with this problem. If the saving/resaving problems are able to be fixed in future updates; this will be a very good program.

Thank you,

Lauren
