Two-dimensional standing wave on a disk

Hi,

Tried to get a two-dimensional standing wave on a disk. Indicate the line of nodes and antinodes:

Of course the animation is very slow, but it looks pretty. In the attached pictures presented the case of anti-phase oscillations.

I would say you are pushing this software to its (early) limits. A very nice construction!

hello

i think the movement is better redefining the function

cos(a-b)-cos(a+b)= 2 sin(a) sin(b)

so you can define

aux1=2 a sin(v t)

aux2=2pi/lambda

c(x,y)= aux1 sin(aux2* sin(sqrt(x^2+y^2))


and then the calculus for c(x,y) are reduced


i do not know if there is a bug but i can not delete the function c in your file, only i can redefine it


your work is very wonderfull

Hello ,

Thanks for replay. I did so purposely: one cosine of the incident, the other reflected wave. Replacement of the product here will not change anything. Here the problems in GG version.

hello

if GG do calculus in a grid (i suposse 50x50) redefining the function we can reduce 7500 products and 7500 sums in each picture

this do the movement more nice with higher v


about the problem with view , what must be the criterion for viewing two coincident planes: first or last in "construction protocol" or the mixture you had seen?
