Solution to trigonometric equations is always greater than 360 degrees.

This questions is for 5.0.212.0-3D on windows 7.

When I try to solve a simple trigonometric equation lik cos(x)=0.5 I get an answer greater than 360 degrees (see picture). Earlier this used to give me the smallest solutions. Any reason it doesn't give the smallest answer still.

Original problem show in picture below. Answer should be 40.24 degrees.

Try

  1. NSolve[cos(x°)=0.5,x=100]

Thanks for the feedback. It actually works without specifying x=100 as long as I type in the NSolve command. If I just type in the equation and press the button for numerical solutions it gives me a solution beyond one rotation.

Hi

I can't reproduce your bug...

(i only have a "problem" in line 6...)

Line 6 seems to be where I encounter trouble. Line 2, however, gives me the desired result.

What version of GeoGebra do you have? My problem is in version 5.0.212.0-3D on windows. My mac-version (5.0.209.0-3D works fine).
