Slider Settings Can't Be Changed (Max/min/interval)

DashingDave shared this problem 4 years ago
Not a Problem

I'm running v.6.0.496.0-offline on a Mac running OS 10.13.6.

I can't figure out how to change the max/min/increment values after creating a slider. I've tried double-clicking on the slider in Algebra view in hopes of editing the Slider function that created it, but that just opens the Slider Settings tab/panel. And, in that, I can't change the values of the max, min, or increment. Sometimes, I can't even get the cursor into the boxes.

I'm using the version for Windows, but I think it's the same :)

Click one of the max/min values to edit them, as well as the Increment,

or

Click the three dots icon to open a context menu that allows you (also) to edit the settings of the slider.

Hi! I can change the values within the range set by the slider (e.g., if the slider goes from 1 to 5 by 1, then I can set the slider at 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. However, I can't change the slider to go from, say, 1 to 6 by 1.

The settings panel opens up, but the text boxes for max, min, and increment don't allow the numbers to be changed.

I tried also on Mac (10.13.6) . Everything works well here, both way what Simona wrote.

Maybe I'm not being clear. Here's some screenshots showing what I'm having problems with.

So I click on Settings:

391723219baaed287a2c770a59538c41

and then, for example, click inside the min value box:

1f3f79d8101a7298c8110e184dae3f77

and delete the value there:

5ccbed0811b2083b0a6f7580063c7875

and try changing it to 4:

25d50e964893f94c2baab4fef4ba1329

and then clicking in the max text field box:

f5b7689a997ee5cf7a4793e60e84e5fa

causes the min value text box to revert to the previous value. This happens with all there boxes. The application doesn't accept any change I make in those fields.

@mathmagic Same result

It's impossible to reproduce your issue, also one of the developers looked into it (Elias Judit).

As Mathmagic said, you must press the Enter key after each change of the values of the slider.

If it still doesn't work, please post here your file so we give it a try.

I had the same problem as DashingDave. Pressing the "Enter" key after typing the value solved the problem.

The same problem: I could not change min, max. and increment values.

I tried editing those with the screen keyboard -- it worked! Then I closed the screen keyboard and... I could not write anything in the preferences -- clearly GeoGebra has been downgraded, at least in this regard.
