First create a perpendicular line from a point perpendicular to a line, then create a point on this perpendicular and finally create the segment. In one step you can't. You can only define Perpendicular Lines.

I know this process well: I also tried to trace the segment above the perpendicular line but if I cancel the line the segment disappears .. This situation is not very pleasant because if I need to draw a segment I have to trace the line or, the half line and the drawing becomes confused. Do you think you can solve this problem in the future?

I'm afraid you'll have to deal with it.The perpendicular line is the parent object of the segment, that is dependent from it. So of course if you delete the line, the segment disappears. But to prevent the construction to be confused, hide the line immedeately after creating the segment, so it looks you only drew the segment.

Hi,

Use vectors it will be easier, see the applet joined.

From this you could build a user tool to create this segment.
