saved file reopens as if blank

When I save a file (or download it) then try to reopen it in geogebra, all I get is a new, empty, geogebra window. The file looks as if it is large enough to contain the data, but nothing shows up in the reopened file.

I am using geogebra version 6.0.415.0-offline under Ubuntu linux 16.04.5 LTS.

I can't test with unix.

With Windows 10 GGB 5.0.513 and GGB 6.0.613 I have (also) no problems.

But I see you have a very old Version.

Try with GGB 6.0.513

Please open with File -> Open, not double-click

Could you make this, "Please open with File -> Open, not double-click" a pop-up tip or something, whenever a user saves a file locally? I've had this problem for a while now of not being able to save my work - but apparently all along the problem hasn't been that nothing gets saved, but that double clicking on a ggb file doesn't open the file in GeoGebra, it just opens GeoGebra. After a couple of decades of double-clicking to open something in a program it's very unintuitive to do it any other way.

I heartily agree -- I've got used to how GeoGebra works now but I still don't like it.
