SAVED FILE NOT LOADING/OPENING

Sahar shared this problem 7 months ago
Solved

I'm trying to open a saved file as this is crucial to an assignment that's I'm working on (which is due VERY SOON). Compared to the other saved files I have, this one just shows as a blank white image and when I try to open it it just keeps loading and never shows me the file that I saved.

Please reply ASAP.

What's the link to this file? A screenshot doesn't help to examine the problem.

PS there's no ASAP nor 24h emergency. People help when they are online and reed a post

What's your problem 'ccambre'?? Sahar asked raised the problem politely and professionally so why can't u be polite & professional too? Learn some manners before trying to help other people.

Hey Sahar, my friend experienced a similar problem before and the quickest option here is to probably re-create the file. All the best with your assignment and sorry u had to come across this rude person called 'ccambre'!

@Stella Ccambre wasn't rude. He just meant that rushing an answer is not applicable here, because we are all volunteers and have our own jobs and life, so sometimes it's not possible to answer immediately because of many different reasons. One of them is that people usually doesn't work on Sundays :)

Also, many of us are not English mother tongue (as I'm not) so maybe we lack the "nuances" of a language that isn't our own.

We also expect users to avoid being rude... You have no idea about how Chris is always helpful with anybody over here, so, don't judge a priori, please.

Anyway, Chris' request is just fine. It's not possible to troubleshoot an issue with a screenshot. If you read the Forum, we always ask for details, and a link to the file, in this case, is crucial.

Anyway Stella, your suggestion to recreate the file is not the best solution right now. Looking at the pic, and trying to use my witch gifts, it seems that something went wrong during upload. So the first thing to do is to re-upload the file.

Thanks, Stella! While his request was reasonable, I believe it could've been phrased differently; some things that he said were unnecessary so he could've simply requested the link without saying ALL those things. This way, it would've been much more efficient for us all. The problem here is that I didn't expect this to be a forum discussion, let alone for questions to be answered by volunteers. Most other websites have private chats and resolve problems efficiently (usually within 24 hrs) so I expected the same from GeoGebra. Here's the link for anyone interested: https://www.geogebra.org/m/zdtxtqfu. As aforementioned, it keeps loading for an exceedingly long period of time and stops after a few minutes. By 're-uploading' I'm assuming you're referring to re-saving it which isn't possible here since I haven't got have the file open (I only have it saved). I think I'll opt for re-creating it since I haven't got much time left.

P.S. it's 'read' not 'reed' (in response to the first comment).

By re-uploading I mean uploading your local copy of the file again.

It's always a wise option to have a local copy of own work, in case of Internet service unavailable or whatever reason. Anyway your current online file is damaged, so if you don't have a local copy you will need to recreate it.

Also, please, avoid unnecessary sarcastic comments.

This is a warning, if my English is not good enough to show it.

GeoGebra is a collaborative free space, born for a collaborative community, gravitating around a powerful software that you can use for free. This says a lot about the spirit of the people who help here.
