# RotateText breaks newlines

marflorfle shared this problem 4 years ago
Not a Problem

I'm using v5.

Create a text object that has two lines. Applying RotateText[obj, 90 degrees] to it results in the text being on one line. (not to be understood as two lines overlapping)

No Problem in my environmen GGB 5.360 Win10 Desktop.

Note: The Text must be in laText notation inside the command RotateText[]

see attachment.

Hi,

see text7 and text8.

I've got 5.0.355 so I guess it might have been fixed.

The issue persists on the online viewer so...

For me seems text7&8 OK (5.0.360 Desktop and 5.0.360 Chrome/Windows)

What is your Brwoser (incl.release), what your System (UNIX, Apple, Windows, incl Release)

If you mean the long text is not OK:

ZoomIN and/or set the Property "Position" to absolut.

add a \cr in text7, ie

1. text7 = NOTE: all L-J potentials are equivalent \cr with respect to multiplying by a constant factor.

This seems to work fine on the web thing for me. So I guess it's a desktop client issue.

Michael, wait so that means rotatetext actually coerces to latex or something? so thats what people meant when I read somewhere that it requires latex.... Though that contradicts my preceding sentence.
