Problem in Version 5.0.70 with Point[object]

Hi,

if I open this file I made with version 5.0.68

https://ggbm.at/803589

in Version 5.0.70 (OSX or Win7) only a few of the elements of the construction are shown, the title bar does not show the filename, System Information shows no errors.

If you want to see what it should look like, see this post.

It seems that version 5.0.70 simply ignores the command M = Point[kb] and all elements after it:

Instead of

    <command name="CircleArc">

    <input a0="M_t" a1="M_0" a2="S"/>

    <output a0="kb"/>

    </command>

    <element type="conicpart" label="kb">

    <show object="true" label="false"/>

    <objColor r="0" g="0" b="255" alpha="0.0"/>

    <layer val="1"/>

    <labelMode val="0"/>

    <lineStyle thickness="3" type="0" typeHidden="1"/>

    <eigenvectors x0="1.0" y0="0.0" z0="1.0" x1="-0.0" y1="1.0" z1="1.0"/>

    <matrix A0="1.0" A1="1.0" A2="4.440892098500626E-16" A3="0.0" A4="-1.8027756377319946" A5="1.1102230246251565E-16"/>

    <eqnStyle style="implicit"/>

    <outlyingIntersections val="false"/>

    <keepTypeOnTransform val="true"/>

    </element>

    <command name="Point">

    <input a0="kb"/>

    <output a0="M"/>

    </command>

    <element type="point" label="M">

there is only

    <command name="Point">

    </command>

If I try to enter in the Input bar

    M = Point[kb]

I only get another entry like

    <command name="Point">

    </command>

Is the command M = Point[kb] not supported anymore if kb is a conicpart??

Cheers

Hi,

it's definetly true:

In GGB version 5.0.70 - unlike 5.0.68 and older - it is no longer possible to place a point on an object of type "conicpart" (Semicircle, CircleArc, CircumcircleArc, CircleSector).

If you create a semicircle e.g.

    c = Semicircle[A, B]

and then

    P_c=Point[c]

the file geogebra.xml only contains an empty command:

    <command name="Point">

    </command>

The same is true for points on CircleArc, CircumcircleArc, CircleSector.

Opening files created with versions before 5.0.70 which contain points on objects of type "conicpart", these points are replaced with the empty command

    <command name="Point">

    </command>

which means the points and all dependent objects are lost.

Only on elements of type "conic" (Circle, Ellipse, ...) you may place a point.

Hi Michael,

thank you very much for the quick fix.

No more problems with Point[object].

But the annoying bug reported in this thread is still present in version 5.0.71 Mac OSX.
