In the input window, I have to enter the expression twice in order for the program to enter the number correctly. This is wrong.
The program must immediately, for the first time, enter the expression correctly.

Perhaps a rounding problem....
Try entering sqrt (3) twice.
The first time the approximate value is entered and b=false
the second time the exact value is entered and b=true
