Possible to fill n cells?

I'm trying to use the FillCells[range, object] command by putting A1:An in the cell range, where n is a slider with whole number increments. Is this not possible?

Do I need to do some sort of scripting?

Hi, try this scripting, within a button or n, as scripting on update :

  1. Execute[{"FillCells[A1:A"+n+", 1]"}]

Is there a way to get this to work for hiding the label of every object created in that column?

Execute[{"ShowLabel[A1:A"+n+", false]"}] doesn't work.
