Merge GeoGebra Groups with GeoGebra Classroom

GeoGebra Groups allows for the creation of a "Classroom", and also allows for the assigning of tasks and grading/giving feedback on said tasks. If the GeoGebra classroom dashboard/teacher interface were to be merged/integrated into the Tasks teacher interface, it would allow for the for both asynchronous capabilities (assigning tasks, grading/giving feedback, monitoring which students have started or completed tasks), as well as synchronous capabilities (teacher dashboard allows for live updates).

Sorry, we won't be merging them. But we will be adding more features to Classroom so please suggest what's most important to add there first

I'd like to intervene in students' answer to open questions. Is it possible? Is it possible few students share the same task and work togheter?

Than you.

I would LOVE for multiple students to be active on the same Activity at the same time. I have created "game boards" that would work beautifully if multiple users could share one activity together.

Sounds very interesting! Are you able to share some example links for those?

I am happy to share a couple of examples! Most of my activities are only shared with a link because they need more explanation than what is given and written instructions can be difficult.

Road Coloring ( https://www.geogebra.org/m/pxepfra3 ) is an activity from The Algebra Project curriculum in which middle school students use the road coloring problem from graph theory to play and discover the properties of finite functions. This link is to a partial lesson for demo purposes.

The Produce Basket ( https://www.geogebra.org/m/q2zcfs44 ) is one of 4 activities which are strategically given to elementary students before the introduction to fractions or fraction notation.

Hello,

When I create my Classroom activity I ask questions that I number but then in the Classroom I end up with questions and nested tasks, which makes it difficult to keep track of student work. Create a Classroom with this example to better understand what I mean: https://www.geogebra.org/m/ydjnjrhp

Maybe an improvement to consider on this side?

Does it work better if you make that into a book (and organise it) and make a Class from that?

Hi Michael,

I have just tried what you offer but it is not the solution. This improves the presentation but makes it too difficult to create such a simple activity.

On the other hand it allowed me to better define what bothers me, I just hope that the translation will be clear enough.

An activity is built using different elements and only those that you have defined as tasks appear in the classroom on the teacher side. This gives me some problems:

- a text element is not considered as a task. I can't always put this text in the header or inside a Geogebra element, so it doesn't appear in the class,

- a Geogebra element can be inserted for observation, a bit like an image, but there is no task to do, yet it appears in the task list.

These are two examples that I have noted, I am sure there are others.

In an activity, it would be necessary to be able to define the elements which constitute a task and / or to be able to choose the elements which must be displayed in the list of tasks in the classroom on the teacher side.

Thanks, I think those problems will be solved when we release the improved task overview page

Thanks for the information.

About improvements to Geogebra Classroom:

- is there a way to be notified of their publications?

- is it possible to know the list of what is envisaged?
