Maximum number of elements in a list

Nico Bakker shared this problem 1 month ago
Not a Problem

There seems te be a maximum on the number of elements in a list. I guess that maximum is around 10000. GeoGebra suddenly becomes very slow or even crashes when I have more elements in a list than this maximum. The amount of memory (16 Gb) in my computer does not seem te be the problem.

Can someone shed some light about this issue? And, more important, can this boundary taken away from GeoGebra?

Kind greetings, Nico Bakker.

You can try running GeoGebra Classic 5 with more memory: https://wiki.geogebra.org/e...

Otherwise the answer is no

Hi Michael,

Thank you for your response. I have tried using this on my iMac by typing commands in the Terminal app:

$ java -Xms32m -Xmx1024m -jar /Applications/GeoGebra.app/Contents/Java/geogebra.jar ~/Fractal_max13.ggb

Unfortunately, I get a lot of error messages.

I have installed OpenJDK, as mentioned in the Reference.

Is there anything that I am missing?

Well, it turns out I should not have used OpenJDK. I am now using the standard jdk (1.8.0_131), and all works fine.

Thank you very much for helping me out!

Nico Bakker.
