Creating worksheets/tasks in Groups, I'm getting a lot of latex errors when I write formulas: Formulas double to other questions/tasks or within the same task, or formula simply reads "LaTeX error"

This is the current one, errors occur in editing:

To fix the LaTeX error in that one I replaced ~ with \sim in the LaTeX code (unfortunately the tool for editing LaTeX and the tool for LaTeX display support slightly different subsets of LaTeX).
Do you have some hints how to make that happen?
No idea, it seems kind of random. Mostly when multiple questions with multiple formulas in question and answer. This one also happens to my students occasionally when they are completing the worksheets. There was a doubling problem in the one linked above that's not there anymore. I can post the next time it happens, too.
