# Label Font Size

robin.tunley shared this question 2 years ago

Is there a way to change the font size of labels? Changing text size is very easy, and i feel like this should be something that is simple, but I cannot find anything on this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

hi

the size of labels indeed goes together with the size of the object itself.

The basic is indeed 'Font size' in the options menu.

You can set the size of an object in the properties window as well for inputboxes as for buttons as for points in the tab 'Text'.

If you like the size of a label different of the size of an object itself, you can hide the label and attach a text (with different size) to the object.

Hi,

The sample from mathmagic is a example

(you can use the variables %n (name), %v (value), %x (x_value),%y (y_value) and any text and the most latex-commands)

other Examples:

\$ \scalebox{2} {%n\\MoveMe} \$

\$ \scalebox{2} {%n}\\ \scalebox{1}{MoveMe} \$

\$ \scalebox{2} {%n\ =\ %v} \$

Thanks, the picture was a great help, I forgot to check the "Show label" - Caption box

This is great! I am using the 'Show label = caption' already, so that my caption shows up, rather than the name field. When I do this, it now shows both contents, name and caption. Is there any way to show only my caption, and use this scaling? If not, I can just hide it and use a text box. However, if I can, that would be fabulous. I am a learner, so hopefully I have expressed this correctly.

Sorry, I have just left out the %n and it is fine. I can't, however, suppress the serif font, by using the suggestion of slik (below). It only works on the first letter of my caption. Not to worry, I will play around with it, or use serif.

it works fine for me enclosing all letters of caption in {}

can you upload an example

If you don't want the serif font, add

\$ \mathsf \scalebox{5} {%n} \$
