Is there still a way to start the exam mode in a browser?

Hello. It was possible to start the exam mode via "geogebra.org/exam". You can still find the old instruction on this website: https://community.geogebra.... Today, "geogebra.org/exam" just leads the user to an exam tutorial.

  • Is there still a way to start the exam mode in a browser?
  • And if not: why?

Please, excuse me, if my question is explained elsewhere. Greetings.

Hi!

No, it's not possible anymore - the reason is a technical one: the browser restricts the app from locking down the device. Without locking down the device we can not provide a secure exam environment.

Thanks. I appreciate your help and the work that 's done by the GeoGebra team and community.

But to clarify it, I have to ask: Am I right, that this is caused by a browser standard issue - so, a new standard is implemented in younger browser versions which wasn 't there in old versions? A reference to another website regarding this topic would be helpful for me.

It is a pity exam mode is no longer available online. I'll miss it :'(

By the way is there anywhere where we can learn the modifications? Sometimes we just "come across" them, and it is frustrating when it happens in front of the students.

Browser restrictions are not new. The browser needs to restrict access to the device from the outside to protect you from malware or anyone trying to access your private data. I haven't found a good read on this yet, but I'll keep looking. Btw, exam mode is still available with the offline and mobile apps! We don't currently announce modifications - I'll have a think about if and how we could do that in the future.

Again: Thank you.

BTW, I just found an older posting regarding the same issue: https://help.geogebra.org/t...
