in this special case, you can change your equation x⁴ - 2x³ - x² + 2x + y² = 0 to f(x)= (-x⁴ + 2x³ + x² - 2x)^0.5 and g(x) = -(-x⁴ + 2x³ + x² - 2x)^0.5 and use the integral-command:
