I can't open ggb files with iOS app

Needs Answer

Hello,

I can't open any ggb file in iOS (iPad) that are saved in Google Drive, Dropbox or somewhere else.

Previously I tapped on a ggb file in Drive, than "open in". Than I had the choice beetween some apps, also GeoGebra.

Now there is no GeoGebra in the list of apps!

What can I do to open ggb files without using GeoGebra tube? (I want to use it with Google classroom. The pupils get an exercise and give their work back to me with the classroom app.)

I think that's a bug in an update, because it worked before.

I hope you understand my bad English... sorry!

Is there anyone who knows something about this problem? Is there a workaround? Will it be fixed soon? Do you have the same problem?

I don't know...

You don't have the button "Open in"..?

I tried with my iPad2 and my iPadAir (both with iOS 9.2.1) with last version GeoGebra app

and it works...

GeoGebra 5.0.193 and iOS 9.2.1.

I have the Button "Open in", but than there's no icon for the app GeoGebra.

OK, now I have deleted and reinstalled the GeoGebra app. Now I can open ggb files with Dropbox, but there is no way to open it with Google Drive... (Perhaps it worked already before with Dropbox, I don't know.)

Google is not my friend lol

Do you have anyway this app on your iPad ?

Yes, that's the app I mean (Google Drive). The Google apps are very usefull! OK, there's the problem with data protection. But apart from this I love it.

So... it is very easy

If you don't see "Open in GeoGebra", it is not a problem with GeoGebra

but a problem with the app you love so (it doesn't allow .ggb files)

Did you try, in drive app, open file off-line..?

Offine access doesn't make a difference...

I always think that if you don't see "open in GeoGebra", it is a problem with the app Drive

See this problem for example

(try the solution they give : if it doesn't work, perhaps you can ask question on the drive forum..?)

The pupils get an exercise and give their work back to me with the classroom app.

how you do that ?

In GeoGebra app, pupils export ? in which app ?

Thank you for the link to the drive forum. Yes, I see now, that's a DRIVE issue.

We

use Google Classroom for these things. Normally its working good, but

you have the need of using drive app as well. The pupils get an exercise

by classroom app with a ggb file in attachment. The classroom app saves

the ggb file in the drive folder of every student. Then the students

can change the file, save it and return it back to teacher by classroom

app. The teacher gets a list of all the student's results.

If it works, it's fine.

Thank you for your help!

Sorry for the [quote]... I don't understand that new forum software. How I can quote your text?

reply instead of quote

click before on the TV (upper right of message writing windows) to get it black

(but you have to copy/paste what you quote...)

Hi again

And if you open a file in GeoGebra with Dropbox

can you copy it in Google classroom app..?

(in GeoGebra app > Export > ggb, then is there "Copy in Google classroom")

(or even "Copy in Google Drive" ?)

Hi,

thanks for this idea. I can't test it now, because we have holidays (without iPad).
