I do remember it was possible to show the properties box or specifically the object color box in tool box so that before drawing the object, I cold choose the color from that box. After many months, I have forgotten how I can bring it to the toolbox.

Two alternatives:

Right click on any object and select object properties. There is a tab called Color....

or

In the top of the Graphics window, on the same line as the word "Graphics" but to the right is a small triangle. Clicking it will make the formatting bar appear. You may select color from a small basic number of colors there.

Putting code below into a Geogebra text object

    \fcolorbox{red}{yellow}{2012\textcolor{blue}\text{ is this year!}

produces text box with

red border

yellow background,

part text "2012" in black (default) and

part text "is this year" in blue

Learnt this from the forum thread started by pablogonz at

You can change the background of a text using the Style Bar. Please use this method as the fancy LaTeX methods won't work in HTML5 so are not a good solution in the medium- and long-term
