How to make objects stick to the center of an object that changes size?

So I have created two rectangles side-by-side. I have also created a number slider (ranging from 1 to 5). The two rectangles will change size automatically. The size they will change to depends on the number value.

I have created two input boxes and want them to be in the center of the rectangles (one in the center of each rectangle) regardless of their size (since they keep changing size as the slider values change).

I have also created a text object which i want to be placed in the center of a line segment (which also changes size and location).

How can I accomplish this?
