How to create a Spherical Spiral?

Hello

I am very new to Geogebra and learning as I go. I need to create a spherical spiral. Does anyone have the code to create this?

I searched and found the following link

which says that it is given by the parametric equations

x=cost cosc ...(1)

y=sint cosc ...(2)

z=-sin c, ...(3)

where

c=tan^(-1)(at) ...(4) and a is a constant.


but I could not get them to enter in the equations in the Surface Formula. Keep getting some error or the other.

Would appreciate any help. Thanks much.

Hi,

Courbe(cos(t) cos(atan(a t)), sin(t) cos(atan(a t)), -sin(atan(a t)), t, -10π, 10π)

with a= 0.1

...

Also, with a=0.1 (no atan... hate them!)


Curve(cos(t) / sqrt(1 + a² t²), sin(t) / sqrt(1 + a² t²), (-(a t)) / sqrt(1 + a² t²), t, -12π, 12π)
