Needs Answer
This is driving me absolutely batty. I've searched high and low and Google has turned up nothing. All I want to do is either create a point on the surface of a cone where a line passes through it, or create a surface from an ellipse so that I can get the points where the ellipse intersects the cone using the surface intersect tool. But neither are apparently possible in Geogebra?
What am I missing?

Hi, I'm not sure I understood what you want
I have part of an ellipse passing through a cone, and I need to be able to place a point on the two places where the ellipse intersects the surface of the cone. I can't figure out how to do this.
Here is an image of what I made. I need the points where the red line crosses the dark grey cylinder (which is actually an extremely long cone):
Please post your .ggb file so we can check
Nothing happens when using the intersect tool at the points where these two objects intersect. I've also tried using the intersect command, and that throws the error "Illegal Argument"
hello
d'accord
you can try CAS but the plot is not interest
GG CAS and wolframalfa return same value
but certanly intersect of surface does not work for a cone in sphere
try to intersect cone and sphere in attached
saludos
