GG Scientific Calculator

I love this app on my Android and iOS devices, but as a teacher, I need to have a desktop version of the Scientific Calculator to help my students to learn it. My teaching machine has Win10. I know I can use a document camera, but there are many problems using document cameras on tablets/phones. I need the stability of a desktop/laptop.

Did you try android emulators?

This is difficult on lock access computers. IT will not allow loading emulators. I feel the Scientific Calculator should be available as a web-based app for desktop computers. There are teachers who are not sufficiently tech savvy to install an emulator.

A Web based version of the Scientific calculator is on its way.

Thanks Simona. It would be nice to have a Windows 10 app. But either is great for the classroom teacher.

How is the web based version of the Scientific Calculator progressing. Thanks.

Thanks. Nice to see. It would be nice to be able to input mixed number 4 1/2 rather than 9/2. This will help students write what it looks like on their paper, probably will need a format like /d8d3X1NS9C1WV+EAAAAASUVORK5CYII=.

Keyboard cursor movements may be needed to.

Would like to see solutions in fraction form rather than as a decimal.

These are few features I would like to see in all versions, features which will assist my adult students. (18 yrs-70 yrs)

Hi Tony,

you can toggle between exact and decimal value of a fraction by clicking the button at the end of any row containing the result.

Here it's a short tutorial: https://www.geogebra.org/m/brr48aw7

Thanks, Simona. These hints help. However, the biggest problem now is while other web based GeoGebra tools open well, this calculator seems nonfunctional upon loading with FF, Chrome, and Edge. I usually need to open another GeoGebra tool and return to it so that I can use it. This problem need to be fixed.

Still interested in features above.

This should be able to toggle to fraction mode.

Upon further thought, the toggle should be available when ever the decimal should appear whenever a rational number could be a good valid solution.

This is the first release, so there's room for improvements.

Just add your suggestions and comments here, and I'm sure that the Devs will consider them.

About starting the app, I had no problems this morning on latest Firefox, as well as now on my iPad 4 with Safari. So I have no ideas to share about this. Let's see if other users have your issue. Check if your browsers are updated (but I'm quite sure that they are ;) )

I keep my browsers up to date, however, I use DSL internet with about 2.5 down & 0.5 upload. It seems to get it started I need to start one of the other web based programs first. Those are a little slow, but not to noticeable. I haven't tried on my iPad Pro yet.

Additional feature, if problem is entered using fractions, the default answer should be in the form of a fraction with toggle to approximate value afterwards.

Consider mode since you have mean and median.
