Free answer doesn't always register in classroom

Hi,

I made a classroom from a book of activties.

In one of my activity, I ask a free answer (they have to write the value of something).

I tested the class and when I went back to the teacher view, all task had answer exept the free answer task. I tried again and still no answer for it.

I tried the class with student : I have answer for the free answer question, but only 3 whereas I have 5 answer for other question (and the question is easy so it's not student not answering it), so it seems that for some reason, it doesn't register everytime.

I also noticed that when in task overview, it write 5 out of 12 while there is only 3 answer.

We are working on fixing this issue.

@Kathryn: Do your students close the browser when "it's frozen", or do they only refresh? Because you only can enter the class with a new name when you open it in a new browser window. Refreshing should work.

Thanks for such a quick response, Tanja!

I'll remind them to just refresh, and only open a new browser window if absolutely necessary - but you know what 12 year olds are like on computers....!

Yes, I can imagine. :-) We will also add student login soon!

Hi Mike,

I'm having the same problem! I'm loving using GGb classroom, but trying to keep a class of 32 on track, whilst running an MS Teams meeting, it's hard to know which figure is accurate! (It will be good also when students can sign in with the same name and get to their unfinished tasks. They keep refreshing the webpage and signing in again! The usual problems - 'It's frozen, Miss'!

Screenshots in pdf attached.

I'm sure my students are now getting annoyed, that I can check their progress so easily! I can tell who has joined the lesson on Teams, but is playing games rather than working!

Thanks in anticipation, Kathryn Peake
