# few sliders for the same constant

arikheilig shared this question 2 years ago

I want to plot g(x)=a f(x)

but I want to show it for values of a>1, 0<a<1, -1<a<0 and a<-1

is there a way to have four different sliders for the same constant a?

thank you 1

What would the 4 sliders do exactly? 1

Each will be using different values (I.e. different regions) for the same constant - I simply want to show different behaviors of the function for different rent vales of the constant 1

Hi arikheilig,

is defining four times the same function e. g. f1(x)=x², f2(x)=x², f3(x)=x², f4(x)=x² in same color and shape and using four different sliders a, b, c, d an alternative?

Greetings

Thank you

I want to plot a f(x) using 4 different regions for a

Then repeat for f(ax)

Then f(a+X)

Thank you 1

Can you send me an example? 1

Bonjour ,

peut être comme ci joint

Cordialement 1

Thank you so much.

Can I ask a bit more: I am presenting 4 types of translations g(x)=a f(x), g(x)=f(ax), g(x)=f(x+a), g(x)=sqrt(a f(x))

Can you help me put it ALL in one file

Thanks again

Sans être sûr d'avoir bien compris ce qui est attendu 1

Thanks again.is there a way once you click on a bouton (lets say the one with a<-1), to make it change its color so the student knows where he is as far as region and the same with the different functions? 1

I would like to rephrase my question:

I would like to create 13 buttons where each will enable a combination of one out of four different functions with parameter "a" and different values for it that will be viewed as a slider 1

Il suffit de rajouter 2 boutons pour a<0 et a>0 et toutes les combinaisons des deux séries de boutons sont possibles 1

Affichage d'une seule fonction à la fois et coloration des choix faits
