feature request: save local file without login prompt

Hi.

I have just start using Geogebra and long time no see, I'm used to the Geogebra 5.0 and looking around in menus I see there is s lot of good stuff in version 6.

There is one thing in particular I find very nagging (sorry, I just could not find other terms for this) - that is when saving a file (local disk) I have to actively deny the promt for log into account.

I always save my work on local disk (my personal preferences) and don't have the need of loggin into an account. So by having to activiely deny the promt of loggin in, every time I save a local file - that is just not a good thing.

Concrete suggestion

Add an option to program settings that let the user turn off extraneous prompts. I don't care if it is on by default, as long as the user (me) have the ability to disable it.

Alternative suggestion - offline vs. online mode

By clicking around in version 6 of Geogebra I kind of feels owerwhelmed by the "cloudyness" of the program, compared to version 5.x as I where used to in the past. As it is not designed to work locally on my computer (to exagerate a bit).

The second suggestion is - what about use two modes og Geogebra? A local/offline mode where all dialogs are tuned to best possible experience for working on local files, while the cloud mode is tuned to work online.

Thanks

Download as -> .ggb

While "Download as..." is a viable solution, I would second the notion that this should be possible from the "Save"-dialog itself.

Today I struggled for a few minutes to find a way to save a file I opened from one folder on my hard drive to another folder, because the "Save"-Dialog does not open any kind of file/folder selection dialog.

It is a little bit unintuitive if I have to "download" a file I already opened from my hard drive instead of simply "saving" it to another destination via a "Save/Save as"-dialog.

I understand that this may be a decision based on the goal of a universal menu that is the same regardless of whether you open GeoGebra in a browser or you use the dedicated desktop app but it is confusing when using the desktop app nonetheless.

I agree. I often work offline (without internet connection), and I save my file several times each minute so that I do not lose my work. It is very frustrating to go through the login screen each time. Currently the only viable solution for me is to downgrade to Geogebra 5. I hope you will fix this soon.

A related problem is that the file-name changes. When I open a local file, modify it, and click Ctrl+S, I expect it to be saved immediately by the same name. Instead, I am given a prompt where the default filename is entirely different - "geogebra_export.ggb". I have to manually change the filename each time, which is even more frustrating. Why did you do this??

I agree this is unintuitive.

What I would normally accomplish with "Save As", I have to do with "Download As" and select ".ggb".

On version 6x, the download as does not offer the possibility to use extension ggt for my custom tools that I want to use it on my toolbar.
