Feature request: Dropbox links (and similar) in GGBooks

I seem to recall that it is possible to include pdf-files in GGBooks if you first put the file on the internet and then upload a "link"-material that you include in the GGBook. I tried something similar with a Powerpoint presentation residing in my Dropbox. This did not work however, I don't know if it's the Dropbox UI or the fact that it is a PowerPoint that makes it not work, but it would be useful to be able to do this since A PDF of powerpoints with animations just won't work.

Here is the GGBook in question: https://www.geogebra.org/b/1470807# It may change when I figure out a workaround... :D

Embedding PDFs should work fine, eg

You need to use tube-beta right now to add it (as a web link). If it doesn't work, please post the link to your DropBox file and we'll check :)

Hi,

the reason is that dropbox (at least the URL you entered) does not support being loaded in iframe.

You can add ?raw=1 to dropbox URL to get the actual file and then use Google's on the fly previewer, but in case of your presentation it's losing some important parts: http://tube.geogebra.org/m/xDtNPvk8

I would suggest you either convert to PDF and use Google's previewer:

https://docs.google.com/gvi...

or upload to onedrive and use the embed code from OneDrive which previews your slides using powerpoint online.

Ok - will attempt to make battle with my schools OneDrive tomorrow then. I don't particularly like OneDrive but if it helps me to do this I'll reconcider.

So I made it into my schools OneDrive, and uploaded the presentation there. I created a link to view it and the link works fine. I added the link to tube-beta. I tried with both pop-up and not pop-up alternatives. None seem to work as far as I can see, just showing blank embedded windows.

The GeoGebraBook is here: http://tube-beta.geogebra.org/material/edit/id/1470807#bookcontent

And the link to the presentation is here: https://edunorrtalje-my.sha...

Help appreciated...

The problem is, that pages can prohibit embedding into other pages actively. This technology is called X-Frame-Options and it seems, Office Online is using it. We are looking for a solution to this issue.

Hi Jonas,

please use the Embed option in OneDrive online instead, it gives you a URL designed for embedding. I dared to change this in your book already. We might make this easier somehow in the future.

Thanks,
