Exported pdf images are cropped incorrectly

John shared this problem 8 months ago
Not a Problem

I think Geogebra crops exported pdf images incorrectly. This is best noticed on long narrow images, like the one in the attached file. It seems like the exported pdf file includes huge empty regions to the left and to the right of the exported region; then I try to insert pdf image exported by Geogebra into Latex document, it is shifted to the right and can't be centered.

The issue affects pdf images only.

Are you using Classic 5 or 6?

PS: GeoGebra Classic 5.0.573.0-d on 64-bit Linux Mint 19.3

PPS: As a workaround I've found nice Pdf-Shuffler utility available in Ubuntu/Mint repositories; it just do the job (crops pdf files as you want).

Try Classic 6 - it has better PDF export

I tried Classic 6 first, but I didn't even find a menu item to save ggb file to my desktop computer, so I uninstalled it. IMO, Classic 6 is a web application and I don't need it.

The option 'Save' in the File Menu of GG6 saves the applet online. However you can choose the option download to save your file on your own computer. And the option to export to pdf is a direct option in the File Menu.

So I would suggest to follow the advice of Michael. Classic 6 is an offline sorftware version of GG (and not a web application!), but with the same user interface as the webversion and the apps.

@ccambre I was really disappointed when I tried GG6. Maybe I am an oldfag, but this is not software that I would ever use, it is just plain wrong for me. GG5 is great, and I can live with its bugs.
