When I do any extensive 'compass and straight edge' work I find myself constantly switching to the intersection tool. It would be very useful if I could press the space bar and switch to the intersection tool and then press space bar again to switch back to the previous tool. Any hotkey will work; I'll just switch it with AutoHotkey. ;-]

Have you considered modifying the tool bar so the items you need are at the top of the tool bar.?
This can be just as useful.
Tony
Yes that was one of the first things I did after installing Geogebra. ;-]
Here is a comparison of what I need to do now and what I'm proposing:
Go up to the tool bar
Select intersection tool
Go back down to where I need the intersection
Click
Go back up to the tool bar
Reselect previous tool
Go back down...
vs
press space
click
press space

Hi,
in many cases you don't need the intersect tool -- clicking the intersection point when using eg. circle tool should work too.
Cheers,

I'm not sure I see the problem here.
If you are using a mouse on a pc, then moving up is no effort - certainly no more than switching between mouse and keyboard.
If you are using an interactive whiteboard, why would you want to return to a keyboard.
If you are using a laptop in a classroom - then get a mouse!
Note - you can move the toolbar to top, left right or bottom on the screen (preferences, layout)
The point tool (the default/top tool on the set of point tools) works as an intersect tool mostly. That is if you "point" at the place where two lines intersect, the resultant point is defined as the intersection and is not a free point.
