double tangent

Solved

Hello everybody,

GGB create a ghost tangent when I want to draw the tangent to circle (or arc) through a point.

Is it a bug ?

I cannot see it in the installed Windows version.

Can you please write in detail how you get that, or better, add a screenshot or a video?

Please specify which version of GeoGebra you are using.

Thanks.

Oops. Probably I didn't understand your post at first glance, I mean I was searching for a visual ghost tangent.

Are you referring to the undefined tangents in Algebra View?

Hi Simona, with the last version, I think that it's within the AV : the g and i objects not defined and... defined as the second tangent ?

Hi Michel, yes.

I was just recreating an easier construction, starting from 2D.

In 2D it seems that the command creates well defined tangents, while in 3D it creates a well defined tangent and an undefined one.

Unless I've done something weird, or the Tangents command in 3D works only for points on a conic, if I try to obtain the tangents from a point external to a 3D conic, I get an undefined result.

I've just told Mathieu to have a look at that :)

Hi,

Thanks for the report. Should be fixed on next release ;)

Cheers,

Mathieu
