Desktop Application Won't Open Files Created by Online Version

When I try to view files created by the online version using the desktop version, I get a message "Oops, the page has been moved" and the application freezes. If I try to edit files created by the online version using the desktop version, it says "loading" , but often gets stuck. If a file loads, the application is unresponsive even though the file is displayed I guess this is some sort of compatibility bug problem between versions?

When I check the version of the desktop version, it checks the Internet and reports it as:

Version: 6.0.562.0-win (11 October 2019)

This is an example, but it happens with all files. The files occasionally don't load, but if they do, when I click on an item in algebra view, the application freezes.

I have tried clearing my cache but that didn't resolve the problem.
