Confining a point on a particular section on a curve

I have a conic and I want to put a point on it, but make it so it can only be located on a specific subset of that curve. I know how to construct linear inequalities; it also appears that GeoGebra is able to draw these inequalities as well, but I don't know whether it can apply them.

I figure restricting the domain of the point rather than the curve would be the right way to approach this.I have experimented with the "If" command but I keep getting lots of Syntax errors.

For example I tried putting implicit curves into the <Then> part of the If command, and got nothing. It would not be practical to rearrange for x. I also tried putting Hyperbola(point1,point2,point3) and got a syntax error.

I tried experimenting with parameterizations, but they were to complex to be handled by Geogebra.

Try Arc(ellipse, A, B)

No, you'll need to parameterise and use Curve() for those
