need to sketch the complex function |z-1|=1 and arg(z-2)=pi/4.

Please replace z by (x +y ί)

arg(x + y ί - 2) = π / 4

abs(x+ y ί - 1) = 1


You can also use vectors instead of complex numbers but in that case make sure you never add or substract vector and scalar, because (a,b)-c for numbers a,b,c is interpreted as (a-c,b-c). You can avoid it by using one of the following options:


arg((x, y) - (2, 0)) = π / 4


arg((x, y) - (2+ 0 ί )) = π / 4
