# Compass-and-straightedge construction tool (need help)

Hi. I'm a student of 11 grade and i want to help to other students with math. A lot of students of lower grades don't understand compass and straightedge construction tasks and for it i did a Geogebra project with animation and buttons, which explains how to divide an angle equal to one third of a given arbitrary angle(trisection). I showed it to 7th grade students and they found it very helpful and interesting because lessons of this type are more understandable.

It was very hard to do it because i used "turtle tool" and as you know "turtle tool" for other aims, not animation. In Geogebra no other way to make animation of pen and especially compass which is main tool in this kind of exercises. The problem is to make a special tool for pen and compass animation with easy interface. You just draw a figure and set pen/compass, order of animation.

What i'm asking from you, is to help me in doing this tool and i'm convinced that this project will help to thousands of kids. I'm good in IT but i don't know Java. We can do it together and we can a lot.

you can make a construction thats looks like drawing at the moment itself, by using a slider s with value [0, 1]. If you want to rotate a given object by a certain angle or translate it by a certain vector, it looks like drawing if you multiply the angle or vector by the value of the slider. That's the way similar dynamic constructions like e.g. the many Pythagoras proofs are made.
