In the attached file is a function f. If you give it a caption in the property dialog, the caption is shown instead of the object name. Save the file, close and reopen it. The caption is gone.

Also in the case of numbers an alternative caption is possible. It would be nice if there would be the option to show caption and Value. (As it is possible for Name and Value).
