When I create a slider the standard width is 200px. While creating a slider I can change this standard width, but this adaptation is not accepted when the slider appears in the screen. Afterwards I can doubbleclick on the slider and change the width, but the setting of the width when creating a slider should be accepted to.

In order for it to apply to existing sliders, the sliders need to be selected. You can select a single slider by simply clicking on it in the Graphics View, or select multiple sliders in the Algebra View using the Ctrl or Shift keys. Once selected, you can click the Apply to Selected Objects button in the Preferences-Default dialog box.

maybe I wasn't clear but indeed there's no problem at all with existing sliders. Problem is that while creating a new one I can fill in a number for with, but whatever number I type, the width of the slider is always 200px and I only can change it afterwards.
