Bug? Trace of of a Locus Created by a Custom Tool

Showing a closed locus created of several curves. Geogebra correctly fills the locus, however when 'Trace' is set on the locus, only the locus *outline* is copied. However, if 'Trace' is set on a polygon, *only* the fill is copied, not the outline.

Is this the intended behavior? Shouldn't 'Trace' copy whatever is visible in the original?

Thanks in advance!

My apologies for the title of my original post. The trace problem has nothing to do with custom tools. It occurs all the time, whether or not the locus comes from a custom tool.

Try putting "Trace On" for the segments as well

Hello, Michael.

If you wouldn't mind, could I bother you to take a look at this issue again. I left another comment with, I hope, a better explanation than the first time.

Many thanks!

I apologize for not being clear enough in my original post.

The issue I raise does not have to do with the trace of the polygon segments. Traces of both outlines and fills work just fine.

The issue has to do with the trace of an "odd" shape defined by a locus. The example file shows a locus made up of a number of straight and circular curves that were gathered together in a List. The locus shape fills just fine, however I note two behaviors that I cannot seem to control:

1. I can never seem to turn off the outline on the locus.

2. Trace on the *shading* of the locus does not work (i.e. the shading is not repeated), while the trace of the outline does work. (But since I cannot turn off the outline, I must always have the trace of the outline).

Please advise if I am doing something wrong or if there is , perhaps, a work around.

And, by the way, Michael, you have my utmost appreciation and admiration for creating such an ingenious tool. You have helped more people than you will ever know. Thank you!

1) try setting line opacity to 0

2) Sorry, I see now - fixed for next release!

Thank you very much for your time and confirming the issue! Can you tell me if the issue might be fixed in the classic version (version 5.x ?) as well?

Again, thanks / appreciation.
