Define 3 numbers in Algebraic View as follows:
a = 2
b = 3
c = a + b
Then, in the input field, input:
Simplify(c*x^2)
The result obtained is f(x)=3x^2+2.
Why not f(x)=5x^2?
This result appears in GeoGebra Classic 5.0.482.0-d

Hi user6972!
Hmm, presumable a bug.
The reason is probably that GeoGebra reads for c*x² = a+b*x² but in CAS GeoGebra is doing right.
Fun fact: Simplify(c*b+a)=17 and not 13
Hmm, GeoGebra is inconsequent. ;-)
kind regards
mire2
in CAS a=4 is an equation
please use a:=2
b:=3
c:=a+b
f(x):= c x^2
Please see also https://wiki.geogebra.org/e... to learn how to enter objects and values in CAS View
Haha! Thanks Noel! Both I and mathmagic are probably suffering for this awful heat wave that - in my case- is reducing my already little reasoning capabilities to the bare minimum.
Please try the new version (v486)
