Best way to export a 3D construction as an image?

Answered

I have a 3D construction.

I need to include the image in a document.

I am using LyX (a visual TeX editor) to write the document.

I have read that you cannot export a 3D image as SVG (this was my first try) or EPS.

So it seems that you have bitmap images as your unique option.

But bitmaps are not great for printing.

I have seen there are options to export int TeX using PSTricks or PGF/TikZ.

I have tried to use it, but without luck, it seems it generates nothing.

Which is the best option to have my image in LyX documents?

TIA

Hi,

For now, only bitmap image export is implemented for 3D view.

All the best,

OK, that's why the tickPS option did nothing.

Thank a lot.

But, how do I export a bitmap image file from the 3D view?

When I am in 3D view, if I key Shift+Ctrl+P or use de file/export/image file (png, eps) no dialog box appears.

When I am in 2D view, it Works correctly.

The option of export to clipboard seems to work, but only exports emf files (bitmap).

Hi,

For 3D view, only "Graphics view to clipboard" (ctrl+shift+C) works for now.
