Bar width probability mass function
Needs Answer
Hey folks,
I am working with the "Statistics applet" on the tab "Distribution". My question: how can I change the bar width esp. for the probability mass function for discrete distributions (e.g. binomial, poisson etc.) so that I get an image like in the attachment of this post?
At the moment, the standard setting in Geogebra provides a wrong illustration in the sense, that one would assume there is positive probability mass between the discrete mass points - which is not. Furthermore, there is a high risk of confusion with histograms. This becomes even worse as students typically having problems to distinguish between stochastic models and working with concrete data.
Best regards,
Christoph
