Please, something better than the use of two opposite vectors?
You can change the endpoints style using the Stylebar or the properties window.
Change each dot into a suitable triangle.
The style box for points allow you to choose among triangles "pointing" North, South, East and West.
Adjust their dimension to match your needs.
Good idea, Simona, thank you. Something else?
if you want to use this more than once, it's best to create a tool:
Just load this tool into a GGB file, select it, click twice for the two points (or click on two already existing points) and enter a number (or a variable name) for the distance and you get the double arrow (as a list).
If you enter a variable name for the distance, you can change the distance for all double arrows in one shot.
The arrow is always on the left side of the direction from first point to second.
See this file:
Thank you, Gerhard, I'll try your tool later or tomorrow.
I'm just coming to face Simona's (mathmum) drift, which presents the shown drawback.
So fine, Gerhard! Look at attachments. Wow!
Thank you very much.
if you like you might try also these:
Sorry for the cryptic names:
DAT.ggt: adds a text with distance from A to B
DALT.ggt: adds lines and a text with distance from A to B
DALLaTeX.ggt: adds lines and a LaTeX text with distance from A to B
Very nice tools, Gerhard! Just applied last one in the att'd sheet.
beware: I reopened a saved file with the double arrow including the LaTeX text created with the DALLaTeX,ggt tool and it seems that text with the distance in it has lost the connection to the anchor point!
Here is the tool that doesn't do that (at least so far as I've tested):
I didn't face any drawback on re-loading my file stairs.ggb, so the previous tool works properly under my GG version: 4.4.27 (Apr.06,2014).
Nevertheless, tomorrow I'll check your new tool.
Finalized the segment dimensioning, as per my wishes -> DALT.ggt tool.
The unrealistic precision up to 10 decimals been chosen for testing purposes. Thanks again Gerhard, thank you forum.
I see these great tools you created Gerhard - and I'd love to use them too...
But I don't understand how to get them to work.
When I open your file, I can see the tool in the TOOLS menu across the top. But when I open my file that I want to use the tool on, I can't get this tool to appear...
