[4.3.1.0 port] - CAS: trig eqn: too many solutions

Let's start

(good morning)

Please have a look at this equation that:

- is not solved unless I expand it (well, I don't worry about this)

- has too many solutions (I mean, the CAS forgets that the equation has denominators, so solutions of the type x=k pi/2 are not acceptable)

Cheers,

S.

And here's another one.

Too many solutions - the equation has no solutions.

Again the denominator existence is not considered by CAS.

Take care,

    Solve[(1 - cos(2x)) / sin(2x) - sin(x) / (1 + cos(2x))]

    Solve[(-cos(2x)² - sin(2x) sin(x) + 1) / (cos(2x) sin(2x) + sin(2x))]

Hi Mike,

sorry but your commands work exactly as the buttons, i.e. the first one gives ?, the second too many results :)

Cheers,

S.
